Little "Adam" has several needs that might at first appear daunting; however, he has had very good care offered to him. He is 4 years old and has been in foster care since he was found at 3 months of age. His diagnosis includes hydrocephalus, meningomyelocele, congenital heart disease (ASD), and club foot. He had surgery in Shanghai at age 2 for release of the tethered spinal cord; during that visit a brain CT showed the swelling had gone down and a scan showed that the ASD in his heart had closed on its own. He recently had casting done for his club foot and he is now walking! Adam is being sponsored by Love Without Boundaries and he is currently receiving physical therapy. He can speak some English as well as Chinese and is loved by everyone who meets him! He loves to have his photo taken, often "popping" into any photo that is taken around him. He considers himself a "big brother" and takes care of the other children around him. He's known for starting a song at bedtime and getting the other children to join in! You can also learn more about Adam by going to the Love Without Boundaries blog on him: Adam Is Back On His Feet and Big-Hearted Adam.
Please contact us if you feel you could be Adam's forever family, as we have a lot more information on him. Adam's file is part of the Shared Waiting Child program for China, which means that another agency could potentially lock this child's file at any time. Any family wishing to consider Adam would need to have a current completed home study done to commit to him. Since Adam is the "A Child's Plea" child, FTIA waives our agency fee for his adoption. Love Without Boundaries also is offering a $1500.00 grant to go towards his adoption expenses.
