FTIA started working in Bulgaria in 2009 after finding an excellent partner in Bulgaria accredited by their Central Authority. Because Bulgaria became a Hague country before the US, there were limited adoptions from Bulgaria to the US for several years. Now that the US and Bulgaria are both Hague countries, adoptions from Bulgaria to the US are on the increase.
